The influence of anthropogenic salinization on the clay mineralogy of soils from Seriogovo
The phase composition of soil clay minerals from the Seriogovo salt deposit in the European North-East of Russia has been studied. The comparison of soil mineralogy of saline and uncontaminated crosssections has been carried out. The presented results suggest that chlorite was formed due to prolonged and periodic percolation of salt brines through pervious silicate layers.
