Geochemical and isotopic characteristics of the waters from crystalline and sedimentary structures of the Bohemian Massif

The chemical composition and isotopic signatures (2H, 18O, 37Cl, 81Br and 87Sr/86Sr) of waters from crystalline massifs and sedimentary basins in the Bohemian Massif were analyzed and investigated. The investigated water samples are characterized by a large variation in total dissolved solids ranging from less than 1 g/L to 142 g/L. The chemical compositions and isotopic signatures revealed basic differences between the waters from crystalline rocks and waters from sediments. New data on the δ37Cl and δ81Br values ofthe waters from sediments illustrate large variations (-0.39‰ to +2.07‰ and +0.42‰ and +3.07‰, respectively) and show a strong positive correlation between the two isotopes.
