The geochemical character of organic chlorine pesticides in the soil-water environmental system, Xiangfan city, Hubei province, China
In order to researching the law of composition and change of OCPs during geochemical processes in soil and water, soil and water samples were collected from the strategic area for economic vegetation in Xiangfan city, Hubei province,China. 17 kinds of OCPs were analyzed in those samples. The spatial distribution of HCHs and DDTs from the soil reflected the known historical usage of these pesticides. The strong positive correlation (R=0.63~0.84p<0.01,N=23) among components of the OCPs from soil can be established. The factors affecting residue levels and composition of DDT and HCH from the soil and water were discussed. The contour maps of OCPs distribution for both the shallow subsurface and deep layer soils were drawn.
