The residues of organochlorine pesticides in the shallow groundwater of agricultural area in Taihu catchments, Eastern China
There residues of organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) in shallow groundwater of agricultural area in Taihu catchments was investigated to evaluate the pollution potentials and distribution of OCPs. 56 shallow groundwater samples collected from agriculture area in Taihu catchment were analyzed by GC/ECD. Among the 14 pollutants in those samples, 13 pollutants were detected except p, p,DDT. The highest detected rate was 39.29% for dieldrin, following the 33.93% for hexachlorobenze(HCB). The detectable concentrations of them ranged from 0.004 μg/L to1.37 μg/L and the average detectable concentrations of them ranged from 0.003 μg/Lto 0.144 μg/L. The concentration of the HCHs and endrin in some samples were above their corresponding water- quality standard for drinking while others were far lower than their drinking standard. The distribution of detected organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) was related with soil cultivated style and water in rivers, The results indicated that HCHs, endrin and heptachlor might have new pollution sources besides the residues while endrin and HCB were affected by their residues in environment.
