Fuzzy-grey design model for assessment of groundwater quality: A case study in Zhangji well field

Based on the Fuzzy and Grey characteristic in groundwater quality, by combining the relative function and relative grade of Fuzzy mathematics theories with Grey system situation decision-making, a Fuzzy-Grey design assessment model for the groundwater environmental quality is presented. It overcomes the shortcoming of anyone one from the two models. The model is applied to evaluate the phreatic water quality in Zhangji well field. Results show that (1) Of all 23 monitor wells, I grade water qualitys number is 10 and Ⅴ grade water qualitys number is 7. The phreatic water quality in Zhangji well field is not in good condition;(2) the Fuzzy-Grey design assessment model can give more assessment information, clear calculation principle and reflect the practice objectively. The results are of important guidance significance for the protection of water resource and the sustainable exploitation and use of Zhangji well field.
