Experiments and forecast of the migration and transformation of pollutants in the vadose zone

In this study, we describe a mechanism for migration of pollutants in the vadose zone through laboratory experiments. The process of pollutant migration and transformation results from many factors such as dispersion, adsorption and biodegradation. We present a model of pollutant, migration in the ground, and test the reliability of the model by a dynamic soil column experiment. Through this model predicting the spatial and temporal distribution of pollutants in the vadose zone, we provide a theoretical basis for establishing controlling measures and understanding pollutant migration.
