Mathematical model of coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM)processes and its application in geo-hazards
Coupled Thermo-Hydro-Mechanical (THM) mathematical models were established to represent the basic physics of geo-engineering processes, which can include the effects of heat, water and mechanics. This model was applied to the extreme slopes near the Nuozhadu hydropower project, which lies on the Lancang river of Yunnan province in China, by thorough geological investigation, coupled THM method was adopted to predict the deformation of the slopes. This study provides a theoretical basis for reasonable selection of countermeasures against slope disasters and for predicting the high slope behaviour after impounding of the reservoir.
