A new proposed method for groundwater vulnerability mapping: A case study in North China Plain
Groundwater vulnerability assessment is very important for rational use and protection of groundwater, as well as an effective way to prevent groundwater contamination. Based on the concept of the groundwater vulnerability and classification methods, this paper points out the inadequate part of the currently most widely used DRASTIC method. Based on a full inspection of plain basin hydrological and geological conditions, DRUA evaluation method was proposed. The Luancheng County in North China Plain was chosen as a case study to evaluate DRUA method. The result shows that the DRUA method can objectively reflect the true impact of aquifer parameters for the groundwater vulnerability.
