Solute migration during acid in-situ leach mining of sandstone hosted uranium deposits
Through experiments of solute migration and geochemical simulation, this paper reveals the characteristics and conditions of uranium transport during acid in-situ leaching process. The species and concentration ofuranium are closely related to such hydrogeochemical conditions as pH and Eh values. The predominant uranium species are UO2SO4 and UO22+ for the leaching solution with pH values ranging from 1.9 to 4.4. The uranium concentration increases gradually until reaching saturation with the extension of leaching flow-path.The leaching site is subdivided into six zones according to uranium concentration and hydrogeochemistry.
