The analysis on the influence of water and fissure on slope stability and its application

The influence of the water and fissures on the slope stability is analyzed. The water has such effects as physical effect, chemical effect and mechanical effect on the rock-soil. The effect of oxidation-reduction reaction between underground water and rock soil changes not only mineral elements but also the chemical components of the underground water, and influences the mechanical characteristic of the rock-soil. The stability of a basic case is calculated according to the formula put forward by E. Hoek and J.W. Bray (Hoek & Bray 1977),the calculating results show that the water and the fissures should be considered together when the slope stability is calculated, which is instructive to the stability calculating.
