Erosion of transported soils in a red soil region during construction of a railway

Transported soils are easily eroded. Soil on the surface becomes loose and is eroded by the force of wind and water. This paper discusses the laws of soil and water erosion on sloped ground in a red soil region during the construction of a railway project. To analyze the main influence factors of spoil ground in red soil region, monitoring of natural rainfall and gully erosion is made in the spoil ground of the Yong-Tai-Wen railway.The results show that there was a greater percentage of clay particles in the monitoring zone. The soil has weak soil erosion-resistant capacity and poor soil water-storage. Rainfall is the main factor influencing surface runoff characteristics. Moreover, soil erosion is closely correlated with precipitation and rainfall intensity.
