The effect of ozone pre-oxidation on chemical oxygen demand and color removal of diosgenin wastewater
The present work evaluates the effect of ozonation for removal of Chemical Oxygen Demand and color in diosgenin wastewater. The ozonation process of contaminant was studied under different conditions by adjusting the acidity and the ozone doses of the wastewater. The wastewater samples were oxidized at original pH of 9 and 5 L/min under 31 mg/L of applied ozone doses, and Chemical Oxygen Demand and color in raw wastewaters were reduced by 20% and 80%. The oxidizability of active particles for the oxidative degradation of contaminants in aqueous solution was postulated.
