Experimental study of sulphur dioxide removal from flue gas using calcareous ash desulfurizing agent

Calcareous coal ash desulfurizing agent with large specific surface area was manufactured by using coal ash discharged from boilers and adding a small amount of lime and uniformly mixing them with water. Experimental results show that the desulfurization rate using calcareous coal ash desulfurinzing agent was higher than that using unmodified coal ash. The desulfurization rate increases with an increasing amount of lime, however there is an optimum amount of lime that may be added to be most effective.
