Design of TD-SCDMA Communications Test Set Physical Layer

Based on an innovative design approach named DSP-centered-design, the solution of a TD-SCDMA communications test set physical layer design is highlighted, in which both hardware and software solutions are detailed respectively. Innovative hardware schematics are given. Then FPGA and DSP program design are explained with great emphasis on flowchart of DSP software because of its important role in the entire system. Finally results of implementation are demonstrated. It shows that the innovative physical layer design supports RF conformance testing defined in 3GPP protocol completely and brings shorter cycle of development, more flexibility and scalability compared to traditional method. Recently the design has been applied in a test set which is adopted widely by TD-SCDMA industry vendors.
