Study on Viscosity of Jet Fuel by CCD Near Infrared Spectrum
The analysis of viscosity in 50 jet fuel samples was studied using CCD near infrared spectroscopy. The NIR data were pretreated by the second derivative, and the calibration models were built using the partial least square (PLS) in the region of the 700-1100nm wavelength. High coefficients of correlation were obtained between the CCD near infrared spectroscopy prediction and those obtained from traditional chemical method. The result shows that the precision obtained through common chemical methods is almost the same as the one through CCD near infrared spectroscopy. The standard error of calibration (SEC) were 1.456, the determination coefficient (R 2 ) were 0.8321. This technique is well suitable for rapid quantitative determination of the Viscosity of jet fuel, and is simple, cheap, and can present real time result.
