To Generalize Array Illumination by a Multiple Phase Grating and a Lens
Array illumination is an array distribution of light. There are many kinds of array illuminators such as tiny lens array illuminator and Talbot array illuminator. Talbot array illuminator generates array distribution by fractional Talbot effect of a phase grating. Array illumination can be used in many fields such as industrial measurement and photoelectric mixed treatment. In this paper we study how to use a multiple phase grating and a lens to fulfil array illumination. We will give an analytical expression to study the array illumination for a given multiple phase grating and a lens. By using a multiple phase grating, we can more easily raise the intensity of the diffraction light, and this will be benefit to the actual measurement. From the analytical expression we know that the spatial structure can be conveniently adjusted by the multiple phase grating and the lens. Thus industry measurement can be more easily carried out.
