An Available-to-Promise Model for TFT-LCD Production Chain
This paper presents recent developments of an available-to-promise (ATP) model in order fulfillment processes for thin film transistor liquid crystal display ( TFT-LCD) manufacturing in the production chain environment where the worldwide headquarter and different manufacturing facilities are globally networked. The ATP model is a tool for enhancing the responsiveness of order fulfillment processes. It directly links available resources of materials and capacity with inquiry or existing customer orders to improve the overall performance of a production chain. This paper proposes a linear programming (LP) model to support decision-making for order fulfillment processes in the TFT-LCD industry considering several production issues including that customers may specify the quality level and materials used in the final product in inquiry orders and the quality level of working-in-process can be adjusted by using different assembled components.
