Exploring Organizational Citizenship Behavior from a New Perspective: the Relationship between Organizational Citizenship Behavior and Team Effectiveness
Organizational citizenship behavior ( OCB) has been identified as essential to the success of work teams and organizations. Organizational citizenship behavior researches mainly focused on the antecedents of citizenship behavior in the past. And more recent studies have paid much attention to the outcomes of OCB. This paper tries to exploring the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and team effectiveness from a group-level perspective. More specifically, it; (a) reviews the definition and origin of OCB briefly; (b) summarizes organizational citizenship behavior dimensions in western and domestic literature; ( c) examines the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and team effectiveness form a group perspective; ( d) identifies several interesting directions for future research in this domain.
