Task Oriented Virtual Enterprise Establishment Process
To incorporate the characteristics of the virtual enterprise (VE) task process in the decision-making procedure, a task oriented VE establishment process is proposed. The process consists of three stages; market opportunity i-dentification; task analysis; partner selection and task assignment. The stages in the process and corresponding solution strategies are discussed respectively. An evaluation criteria hierarchy is proposed for market opportunity identification. The activities involved in the task analysis stage, including task decomposition, task process modeling and subtask implementation strategy selection, are investigated. A VE partner selection and task assignment approach incorporating both the independent properties of a single subtask and the interdependent properties between subtasks is proposed in order to reach global optimum for the overall task process. The task oriented VE establishment approach proposed can provide better decision supports to VE formation and management.
