Improving Supply Chain Performance Via Real-Time Visualization and Collaboration

With the development of Internet-based transactions and applications, supply chain management is undergoing dramatic changes. Real-time information is now more accessible throughout the supply chain, and real-time supply chain collaboration plays important role in overall supply chain performance. In this paper, we present a dynamic supply chain collaboration and visibility model, as well as a Internet-based prototype system, to provide an efficient way for companies to visualize critical information flow and carry out collaboration between their business, their suppliers and their customers at both strategic level and execution level. The detailed collaboration and visualization model, representation, framework, information objects, and process objects are presented in the paper. In addition, the prototype system design, architecture and several real-life applications are discussed in the paper.
