Research on the Trust System in Construction Supply Chain Relationship
Inter-organization relationships in construction supply chain are often perceived a both adversarial and inefficient, and in many countries, a number of different partnering arrangements have become common in recent years. Trust system is an efficient method to improve the construction supply chain relationship management. At first, using the general theory of trust in inter-organizational relationships, this paper discusses the functions of trust in construction supply chain relationships. Formal contractual rules are found to bring about and legitimize behaviors and strategies at odds with common-sense perceptions as to how trustworthy exchange partners should act. After that, this paper study on how trust system improves the construction supply chain management. Partnering practices are found to have considerable potential in influencing the trust. At last, this paper gives the trust mechanism model which can indicate the building of trust system in construction supply chain.
