TRIZ-Based Technology Maturity Mapping of the Modular Fixture

This paper deals with the modular fixture (MF). Firstly, the development trends of MF, CAD-based MF technologies and TRIZ theory were introduced. Secondly, the worldwide patents about the MF were analyzed. Based on that, the MFs were classified according to their different purposes and problems to be solved. After that, the MF patents were graded by TRIZ. Based on the patent number, the patent level, the number of Symptom Curing Patents (SCP) and the number of Cost Reduction Related Patents (CRRP), the MF technology maturity mapping curves were drawn, accordingly. It is shown that the technology maturity mapping method can provide technological references and theoretical supports for the development of MF industry.
