Functional Coordination for New Service Development
Quality Function Deployment (QFD) and design for considerations have been mature concepts for New Product Development ( NPD). We explore some issues in the adaptation of these concepts to New Service Development ( NSD). Based on an in-depth case study of New Zealand service organisations methods of creating new services, we report some findings and intend to integrate some concepts related to functional coordination ad deployment. Findings include using a formal and structured NSD procedure, utilising the interaction mechanisms of Design for and feedback, putting more efforts into the intermediate stage of process design.
