A Stochastic Distributed Inventory Model Based on Web-Services

Inventory systems always encounter more uncertainty when the local enterprises grow into national or international markets. This paper discusses the traditional inventory system model under the distributed environment; a new stochastic inventory model based on Web-Services is designed and presented. Through the comparison between the traditional model and the Web-Services based stochastic model, this paper shows that the new system could maintain a high-level service with lower inventory cost. As a result, enterprise could utilize its resource more efficiently with Web-Services system.
