All of these ask new visions, tools, and processes to enhance decision quality for companies to maintain growth and profitability in light of uncertain and dynamic business environment, which create critical needs for existing management and IE disciplines as well as new programs such as technology management and service science. This talk aims to review some observations to highlight the needs for managerial innovations. Then, based on my own empirical research as illustrations, this talk will share my visions and experiences to address such challenges in high-tech manufacturing and propose value propositions of IE to renew our discipline to fill the gaps and thus sustain lEs values in new era. Finally, this talk will conclude with discussion of the implications to IE educations.
