Aggregated Self-Similar Wireless Traffic Properties Analyses Based on Sup-FRPP Model
In this paper, Superposition Fractal Renewal PointProcess (Sup-FRPP) is applied to analyze the average arrivalrate, Hurst parameter and the fractality start-time of theaggregated self-similar traffic. Simulation results demonstratethat the aggregated multiple self-similar traffic streams alsoexhibits self-similarity, which actually intensifies rather thandiminishes burstiness of single self-similar traffic stream. Theburstiness can have detrimental effects on the networkperformance. Thus these results are very useful for forecastingnetwork traffic variation, optimizing bandwidth allocation andguaranteeing network Quality of Service (QoS).
