Study of IRP for Windows Driver Model
Device driver functions as the software interface for theUser-mode programs to access the hardware for Windows-basedPCs. IRP (I/O Request Packet) is a kind of complex data structurethat be used to communication with the kernel mode driver. Thecomplex structure is very hard to comprehend. This paper clearlyanalyzes the structure of the IRP in-depth, and illustrates theapplication of IRP. At the end of paper, a hardware example forIRP application is offered.
