Strategic HRM and Firm Performance: The Mediating Role of Organizational Culture
Firms employing HRM practices try to gain superior performance. Current research is limited to the examination of the direct linkage between SHRM and performance, neglecting a thorough study of the SHRM implementation process. This study proposes corporate culture as a mediator in the SHRM-firm performance linkage. Empirical results indicate that the impact of SHRM on organizational performance is fully mediated by a developmental corporate culture. Hierarchical culture, however, does not have significant impact on firm performance.
