Three Kinds of Management Cultures/Practices and Their Impact on Organizational Learning Capability and Performance
How to identify and implement suitable management cultures/practices to enhance organizational learning capability and build true learning organization is still a difficult and challenging task in both academic and practitioner circles today. In this paper,firstly three kinds of management cultures/practices (customer, employee and competitor oriented ones) were proposed, secondly an instrument with good reliability and validity for measuring the three kinds of management cultures/practices, organizational learning capability and organizational financial performance was developed, thirdly the positive relationship among the three kinds of management cultures/practices, organizational learning capability and organizational financial performance was tested in 110Chinese business organizations. Both the correlational and the structural equation analysis indicated that three kinds of management cultures/practices positively impact organizational learning capability that positively influences organizational financial performance.Findings were interpreted as suggestion that business organizations can use the proposed three kinds of management cultures/practices to enhance organizational learning capability and therefore performance.
