The Entrepreneurial Process in technology-Based Ventures: The Case in Pre-Startup Stage
This paper is concerned with the processes of new venture creation in China. It presents some preliminary findings from a study of new knowledge based firms in Shanghai, based on the first of three rounds of interviews, which are part of longitudinal case studies. Shanes model of the entrepreneurial process is used as a guiding frame of reference for the empirical part of the study,which is investigating interactions between the individual attributes of entrepreneurs (e.g. motives and background) and external environmental influences, focusing particularly on the pre-start-up phase of the entrepreneurial process.
