Influence of heat island effect on natural ventilation potential in urban area
Based on the CTTC model, the influence of heat island effect on natural ventilation potential was investigated from thermal comfort and natural driving force aspect in this paper. Through simulation, we found that heat island effect has little influence on the total time for which natural ventilation can be used to satisfy indoor thermal comfort in a year. But it reduces passive cooling potential of natural ventilation potential in summer. And the buoyancy-driven force drops significantly due to heat island effect in hot summer days.
