Study on the physiological reaction of human body under different temperature

A laboratory study was carried out in winter by heart rate variability (HRV) testing to study on the physiological reaction of human body and analyze the relation between indoor environment and human body. The contents included: the vagal nerve and sympathetic nerve react to the change of temperature; the influence of thermal environment on humans metabolism. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of cool and comfortable environment demands on HRV derived indices of autonomic nervous activity (ANS). Total one hundred and six subjects who were university students participated in this study, including 47 males and 59 females. The results showed that thermal stress has significant influence on the activity of ANS. And the responds of subjects toward thermal environment could be known by measure the activity of sympathetic system and vagal system.
