Research on biotechnology for indoor air pollution
Biotechnology is a technology which has beenwidely used successfully in air and waste water treatment. In this study, this technology combined with bake-out was introduced for solving IAQ problems. Formaldehyde, benzene, toluene and xylene were treated biologically. Measured removal efficiencies under different temperatures and the pollutant concentrations in the airstream were analyzed. It can be found that removal effect under 30℃ is better than that 40℃ in biotriekling filter. In addition, based on the adsorption-biofilm purification model, the dynamic course of biotechnology for the low concentrations of VOCs was simulated. The results indicate that the model predicted value and the actual value correlates greatly.
