Study of the solar- optical properties of PVB laminated glass
PVB laminated glass is a new kind of glass product. It has the ability to control the transmittance of solar energy, excluding to enhance safety in use. The spectrum transmittance and reflectance in the range of 300mm ~ 2600mm of two pieces of PVB laminated glasses with different thickness are tested by the spectrophotometer. As a result, the curve of spectral transmittance and reflectance in this range can be gained. The solar-optical properties, such as solar energy transmittance and shading coefficient have been studied. According to the national code in China and the international standard ( ISO), the shading coefficient of this kind of laminated glass can also be calculated based on the values measured in spectrophotometer. Compared with the other results of clear flat glass and LOW-E glass, it can be concluded that PVB laminated glass possessed notable energy-saving properties. It can prevent most of the solar heat entering rooms in hot summer days. The indoor thermal environment can also be improved at the same time.
