Experimental study on influence of refrigerant pipe length on specification of VRV air conditioning system

Refrigerant pipe length can influence the refrigerating effect, and it is paid more attention with adoption of VRV system in residential buildings. Considering its environmental effect, R410A has been used as refrigerator in this experiment.. In VRV system which refrigerant is R410A, refrigerating effect and energy efficiency ratio (EER) are measured for different refrigerant pipe length and load by experiments. Results show that EER decreases while pipe length increases. Moreover, variation of cooling capacity with indoor unit distributing distance is also studied. In addition to, suitable pipe length is recommended. Of course, above result is obtained only under laboratory conditions. Since actual field conditions are very complex, further research should be done in detail.
