Experimental study on a novel interlayer ventilation wall

The novel interlayer ventilation wall as the passage of air conditioning exhaust has been proposed in this paper. The comparable experimental rooms with interlayer ventilation wall and common wall have been constructed. The performance of the interlayer ventilation wall on the comparable experimental room has been investigated under different operation conditions at Shanghai in China in winter and in summer. The experiment results indicate that the maximal temperature difference can exceed over 10℃ when the exhaust of air conditioning passed inlet and outlet of the interlayer ventilation wall whether in winter or in summer. The energy of exhaust is recovered completely. The inner surface temperature of the envelope with interlayer ventilation wall is near to the temperature of indoor air, and thermal comfort is very satisfaction. What is more, the air conditioner of interlayer ventilation wall is more energy-saving at the same indoor air temperature. When the envelope are 4 m2, the air conditioner of experimental room with 1 horsepower can save maximal energy 0.14kW in summer and 0.19kW in winter.
