A CYCLIC PLASTICITY MODEL FOR UNSATURATED SOILS
A jumped kinematic hardening subloading surface concept was proposed. The concept was introduced to a generalized elastoplastic model for unsaturated soils proposed by the authors. In the concept, centers of similarity can jump to the reversed stress points when reverses of loadings occur. An isotropic consolidation test for Kawasaki clay and oedometer tests for an unsaturated rockfill were simulated using the elastoplastic model. The simulation results showed that the model could well express the hystereses of loading and unloading, and estimate the plastic strains induced by the cyclic loadings.
