DETERMINATION OF THE UNSATURATED HYDRAULIC PROPERTIES OF SANDY SOIL BY INVERSE MODELLING
A large scale multi-step upward transient outflow experiment was conducted to determine a set of hydraulic related properties of sandy soil. The experimental results were then used to determine these hydraulic related properties. TOUGH2 was used to simulate the experiment while UCODE was for inverse simulation of the experiment. Three fluid flow constitutive models were examined. These models are all based on van Genuchten and van Genuchten Mualem. The results show that the van Genuchten and van Genuchten-Mualem having two shape factors dependence to each other is the best among the examined models.
