SENSIBLE HEAT STORAGE FOR MEDIUM AND HIGH TEMPERATURES
Storage systems using sensible heat storage have been developed for operation temperatures up to 400℃. These systems are intended for integration into solarthermal power plants demanding storage capacities in the MWh-range. Research has been focused on the development of cost effective storage systems using concrete with embedded heat exchangers. Various options for improving the heat transport within the storage material have been investigated.
