A STUDY OF PV-SHADING COMBINED WITH BUILDING

This paper is focused on a building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) technology that the panels of photovoltaic (PV) cells are used as shading for window, PV-shading for short. To reduce the solar heat gains of building through window in summer, the application of overhangs or vertical-shading devices over windows is an important method to achieve in building technology, however, the question that solar heat gains are beneficial to the indoor environments in winter is needed to be considered. Whilst, for PV-shading, that the good performance of photovoltaic panels adapting to the indoor environments in summer and winter is to be confirmed.
