EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS INTO SOLAR-INDUCED PASSIVE COOLING WITH TROMBE WALL AND ROOF SOLAR COLLECTOR

Experimental investigations were conducted to determine the thermal performances of the Trombe wall and roof solar collector for solar passive cooling. Outdoor tests were conducted. Both Trombe wall and roof solar collector were able to supply adequate fresh air for ventilation purposes but the amount of induced air was insufficient to provide adequate cooling for human comfort within the room. The roof solar collector provided a cooler attic and hence a lower ceiling temperature.
