DISTRIBUTED AND STEADY MODELING OF THE PV EVAPORATOR IN A PV/T SOLAR ASSISTED HEAT PUMP
A specially designed direct-expansion evaporator (PV evaporator), which is laminated with PV cells on the front surface is adopted in a photovoltaic/thermal solar assisted heat pump (PV/T SAHP) to obtain both thermal energy and electricity from solar radiation. A distributed and steady model is presented to describe the performance of the PV evaporator. In the model, the influence of the pressure drop on the refrigerant properties, such as evaporating temperature, density, enthalpy, is taken into account. The model is capable of predicting the spatial distribution of pressure, temperature, vapor quality, void fraction and enthalpy of the refrigerant. Two-dimensional distribution of the evaporator temperature and PV efficiency are also given by the model.
