OPTICAL PROPERTIES ANALYZING AND MEASURING OF Cd1-xZnxTe/GLASS THIN FILMS GROWN BY HOT WALL EPITAXY
Cd1-xZnxTe thin films with different thicknesses are prepared on well-cleaned glass grown by Hot Wall Epitaxy, and their optical properties are comprehensively studied and measured. The reflectance, absorptance and transmittance of thin film are discussed from an illuminated specimen with Air-CZT thin film-glass-air mode, and their formulation of total reflectance and transmittance are given. The reflectance spectra and transmittance spectra are measured by the Cary5000 Double Beam Spectrometer from 200 to 1200nm, and calculated absorption coefficient, Extinction coefficient and reflective index as well as dielectric function 1 2 ( )i ε ε ε =. is obtained in the intrinsic absorption region. A plot of ( hνα )2 versus hν is used to determine the optical energy gap Ego of CZT thin films. It is found that the optical energy gap Ego decrease with the increase of thickness, possible due to a large grain size. These results confirm that CZT is a direct gap material with a high absorption coefficient in the intrinsic absorption region.
