ANALYSIS OF THE MAXIMUM POWER POINT TRACKING IN THE PHOTOVOLTAIC GRID INVERTERS LOWER THAN 5 kW
The aim of this article is to describe how closely low voltage small grid-connected PV inverters of less than 5 kW operate at the actual maximum power point. To carry this study out, twelve 50 Hz single-phase inverters were selected from the European market. Each one of them was put into a grid-connected system installed in Spain. PV power generation with respect to irradiance and local time were measured under different meteorological conditions. Theoretical power values were obtained by means of extrapolation from experimental results. After that they were compared with experimental results. MPPT efficiency can be estimated for a day, and whose range varied between 95.3 % and 99.9 %.
