MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT ON SDDX POWER SUPPLY SYSTEMS
SDDX is by far the largest program worldwide with aim to provide electricity service with remote systems based on renewable energies. After 3 to 4 years running, its very important to know the situation of these power plants. Two data acquisition systems (DAS) were installed in 2005 to monitor the running of PV/Wind hybrid systems in Yangkang and Zongjia Townships. The analysis of one year monitoring data shows that electricity supply of these power plants can meet the requirement of local people. However, equipment damage becomes a severe problem, which induced noticeably insufficient electricity supply from May 2006 at Yangkang. The monitoring results also show that the PV/wind system performance is affected significantly by different factors. The energy supply from both plants is mainly provided by PV array. The initial system design left some room for power consumption increasing; however, there is still room for system design improvements.
