RELIABLE HEATING IN SPITE OF POWER FAILURE-DEVELOPMENT OF A UNIQUE EMERGENCY PACKAGE FOR SOLAR HEATING SYSTEMS AND STORAGE TANKS

Power failure – now what? For some, virtual disaster occurs when the freezer defrosts and the coffee-maker and television do not work. In this situation, it is even worse when the central heating does not work, there is no hot water and the house becomes cold. This happens even in homes equipped with a solar heating system. The severe consequences of electrical power failures during last year in the US, Sweden, Great Britain, Italy, and Denmark have heightened reliability concerns in many countries. Mr. Timo Leukefeld (the MD of Soli fer) winner of the German Solar Prize in 2001, came to appreciate these facts during many discussions with customers of his company, which is based in Freiberg/Saxony, near to the city of Dresden.
