STUDY ON MEASUREMENT AND SIMULATION EVALUATION OF LARGE WIND POWER PLANT CAUSED EFFECTS ON POWER QUALITY

Based on IEC61400-21, and through measurements of typical grid connected variable speed constant frequency wind power plant, characteristics of power quality of the doubly-fed wind generator are analyzed. A simulation method based on Monte Carlo method to simulate the outage and load change of wind power plant is presented. The changes of power quality caused by doubly-fed wind generator are simulated. Compared the simulation results with the measured data, the simulation model is proved suitable for the evaluation of doubly-fed wind generator caused effects on power quality. Studies show that the wind speed have direct effect on voltage fluctuation and flicker caused by wind power plant, and the short-circuit capacity on the connection point of wind power plant to power grid has big effect on voltage flicker. Rational system design and operation arrangement can reduce voltage flicker.
