An Artificial Neural Network System of Distributed Precipitation Estimation Based on EOS/MODIS
Utilizing the atmosphere products of EOS/MODIS remotely sensed imagery, this paper proposes an Artificial Neural Network(ANN) model to estimate the distributed precipitation. According to the requirements analysis, a computer system is designed and developed to carry out this model. The system consists of modules of HDF dataset processing, meteorological factors extraction, ANN learning and training, and distributed precipitation estimation. It can be used to construct the ANN of distributed precipitation estimation, and applied to estimate the precipitation based on EOS/MODIS datasets. It shows that the integration of ANN and EOS/MODIS provides a new effective way to estimate the distributed precipitation in an area.
