Research and Development of Web-based Intelligent Learning System
To build a web-based learning environment depends on learning theory and related technology support. Many projects and researches on web learning have been carried out in these years. Although most of them emphasized on the application of multimedia elements, they did not pay much attention on three crucial elements- personalization, contextual understanding and platform-independent standardized learning materials, which are rather important for students from different knowledge background and learning level. This paper describes the design of WILS, an intelligent learning system implemented for web instruction by combining learning theory, artificial intelligence and internet technology. Developed under. NET framework, the system consists of four tiers and provides personalized and collaborative learning environments. Estimated results reveal that our web-based intelligent learning system can efficiently help students increase learning efficiency while receiving traditional face-to-face instruction.
