Social Group Collaborative Learning: Reasons and Features
In the knowledge society today, the knowledge characteriticss of constructiveness, socialization,contextualization, complexity and tacitness have obtained recognition and provided new views, methods and means for learning. The whole society is undergoing transformation on resources, groups, conceptions, contents and environments of learning, however, the current e-learning system cannot adapt to this transformation. With the rapid development of information technology and the Internet, the trend of socialization is starting,and social software and Web2.0 emerged as the time requires.Underthis background, this paper gives reasons for social group collaborative learning (SGCL), argues that it is time to do research in the mechanism and technology which can fully bring the e-learning into play and support social group collaborative learning. Furthermore, this paper describes features of SGCL,including collaborative knowledge building, social sharing and collaboration, collaborative group learning and student-centered learning.
